Dianthus plum is a clumping perennial herb. It is generally cultivated as a biennial flower. It is light-loving. It is required to be planted in sunny, fertile and moist soil. Dianthus plum is very resistant to cold, and can survive the winter safely even with a little coverage in cold places, but care must be taken to prevent voles from eating its roots. The blooming is most prosperous in June to July the following year. After one year of blooming, the stubble will lose its retention value. The number of chromosomes is 2n=30. It should be noted that when dianthus and plum are planted in poor drainage sites, sclerotia vulgaris and wilt are prone to occur.
