Development Of DNA Detection Chip

Oct 12, 2020

In January 2004, HP officially released its nano-scale chips for rapid DNA detection. In 2004, the complicated detection steps of DNA microarrays based on optical principles were adopted in DNA detection. The HP team changed the complicated steps to the circuit chip for processing; in production, the DNA detection chip was passed on. The sensing element is a nanowire with a thickness of about 50 nanometers, which is made by electron-beam lithography and reactive-ion etching. However, for commercial considerations, the results are too high. Therefore, the research team is developing a technology that uses cheaper optical lithography to make DNA detection chip components.
