Definition of half wave loss
When the wave is reflected from the wave medium to the dense medium, the vibration direction of the reflected wave when it leaves the reflection point is opposite to the vibration when the incident wave reaches the incident point, or the reflected wave is abruptly changed by π with respect to the incident wave. This phenomenon is called half-wave loss.
