There are few single zinc mines for zinc, and the main zinc mine resources are lead-zinc mines. China's copper and zinc ore resources are relatively rich. Except for Shanghai, Tianjin, and Hong Kong, lead-zinc ore is produced all over the country. There are more than 700 producing areas, with total lead reserves of 35.72 million tons, ranking 4th in the world; zinc reserves of 93.84 million tons, ranking 4th in the world. From an inter-provincial comparison, Yunnan's lead reserves account for 17% of the country's total reserves, ranking first in the country. Guangdong, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Jiangxi, Hunan, and Sichuan are next, with proven reserves of more than 2 million tons. Yunnan is the country with the most zinc reserves, accounting for 21.8% of the country; Inner Mongolia is second with 13.5%; other provinces (regions) such as Gansu, Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hunan are also rich in zinc resources, all of which are above 6 million tons. Lead-zinc mines are mainly distributed in the Lanping area, Dianchuan area, Nanling area, Qinling-Qilianshan area and Langshan-Zhaertai area of Inner Mongolia. From the perspective of ore deposit types, there are granite-related granite (Lianping, Guangdong), skarn (Shuikoushan, Hunan), porphyry (Yaoan, Yunnan) deposits, and deposits related to marine volcanoes (Qinghai tin Tieshan), there are deposits produced in continental volcanic rocks (Lengshuikeng in Jiangxi and Wubu lead-zinc deposits in Zhejiang), and lead-zinc deposits produced in marine carbonate (Fankou, Guangdong) and mudstone-clastic rock series (Gansu Xicheng lead-zinc deposit), there are lead-zinc deposits (Yunnan Jinding) produced in marine or continental sandstone and conglomerate. Lead-zinc deposits exist from the Archean to the Cenozoic, and the Paleozoic lead-zinc deposits are rich in resources.
