Ruby laser
The ruby laser is a kind of laser, and the working material is a ruby rod. Soon after the idea of a laser was put forward, ruby was first used to make the world's first laser. The matrix of the ruby crystal for laser is Al2O3, and the crystal is doped with about 0.05% (weight ratio) of Cr2O3.
