Proton decay introduction

Proton decay is a hypothetical radioactive decay in particle physics. This hypothesis predicts that when protons decay, they will become lighter subatomic particles, usually neutral π mesons and positrons. Proton decay has never been confirmed, and so far there is no evidence that proton decay is possible.
