Introduction of HTPE propellant
The hydroxyl-terminated polyether prepolymer (HTPE) propellant is the first solid propellant for tactical missiles developed by the United States to improve the insensitive properties of the hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) composite propellant. HTPB is very similar. The HTPE propellant has good insensitive properties in the insensitive ammunition experiments with various reduction ratios and full-size model engines with different charge structures. The propellant exhibits properties that are insensitive to extreme excitations (heating, shock waves, mechanical impact). The experiment proves that HTPE propellant has the characteristics of insensitive ammunition and achieves the insensitive sensitization target of this engine. This HTPE propellant has begun to be popularized in HTPE / AP / Al formula, and it is expected that it will also have good insensitivity.
