Greenpeace, an international non-governmental organization. The predecessor was the "No Show of Hands Voting Committee" established in Canada on September 15, 1971. It was changed to Greenpeace in 1979 and its headquarters is in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Greenpeace has branches in more than 40 countries and regions in the world and has more than 3 million supporters. In order to maintain impartiality and independence, Greenpeace does not accept funding from any government, business or political organization, and only accepts direct donations from citizens and independent funds.
