Polymer chemistry is an emerging comprehensive discipline that studies the synthesis, chemical reactions, physical chemistry, physics, processing and application of polymer compounds. The history of synthetic polymers is only 80 years, so polymer chemistry has truly become a science in less than 60 years, but its development is very rapid. At present, its content is beyond the scope of chemistry. Therefore, the term polymer science is now commonly used to refer to this subject more logically. In a narrow sense, polymer chemistry refers to polymer synthesis and polymer chemical reactions. In fact, human beings have been closely related to macromolecules from the beginning. Natural animals and plants, including the human body, are composed of macromolecules as their main components. These macromolecules have long been used as raw materials to make production tools and means of life.
