The chemical formula of pyro-quartz is SiO2. The molecular weight is 60.08. Colorless amorphous hard and brittle glass body. Boiling point 2230 (2590) ℃, relative density 2.19. Insoluble in water, soluble in hydrofluoric acid, and slightly soluble in alkaline solution. It is a natural mineral.
