Classification of synthetic resin coatings
① Classification by main film-forming substances
Each resin has its own characteristics. The output of alkyd resin coatings is the largest, the development of acrylic resin coatings is the fastest, and the output of amino resin coatings, epoxy resin coatings, and polyurethane coatings is also large. These are the five major types of synthetic resin coatings.
② Classified by dispersion medium for coatings
It can be divided into three types: solvent-based, water-based, and solvent-free. Solvent-based coatings have the largest output and are widely used, but because they consume a lot of organic solvents and pollute the environment, they are gradually being replaced by high-solid coatings, water-based coatings, powder coatings, and radiation-curable coatings. These types of coatings are sometimes called low-polluting, resource-saving, energy-saving coatings, and they are new varieties of coating products.
