Car brake pedal operation method

Automotive brake pedal operation is divided into: slow braking (ie, predictive braking), emergency braking, combined braking and intermittent braking. In general, during slow braking and emergency braking, the clutch pedal should be stepped to the end before the wheel is locked and parked, so that the engine does not stall and help to change the speed.

1. Slowly brake. Press the clutch pedal and release the accelerator pedal. Push the shift lever to the low gear position, then lift the clutch pedal and place the right foot on the brake pedal. Press the brake pedal gradually according to the required speed and parking distance. Until parking.

2. Emergency braking. Emergency braking is divided into emergency braking at medium and low speeds and emergency braking at high speeds. Emergency braking at low and medium speeds: hold the steering wheel with both hands, quickly step on the clutch pedal, step on the brake pedal almost at the same time, and take a step to death to stop the car quickly. Emergency braking at high speed: due to high speed, large inertia and poor stability, in order to increase braking efficiency and improve the stability of the car, the brake pedal should be stepped on before the wheel is locked. The clutch pedal is depressed again to divert the vehicle speed with the low engine speed. After the wheel is locked, the front wheel steering is out of control and the body is easy to skid. The key points for emergency braking are: the steering is out of control after the brake is locked. When the inertia of the car travels close to the obstacle when braking, you can stop the car according to the speed of the car. Then try to stop the vehicle and if you can't stop it, you need to bypass. When detouring, the brake pedal should be relaxed, so that the steering wheel can be controlled, and the brake pedal can be stepped off after the obstacle is bypassed. The vehicle is prone to side slip during emergency braking and the brake pedal should be slightly relaxed to adjust the body during side slip.

3. Joint braking. The shift lever disengages the accelerator pedal in the gear, uses the engine speed to drag down the vehicle speed, and simultaneously depresses the brake pedal to brake the wheel. This method of decelerating by engine drag and wheel brake braking is called joint braking. The combined brake is used more when the normal driving needs to be decelerated. The key point should be: when the vehicle speed is lower than the minimum speed of the vehicle in this gear, it should be replaced into the lower gear in time, otherwise the transmission system will be accelerated.

4. Intermittent braking. Intermittent braking is a method of braking that intermittently steps down and relaxes the brake pedal. When driving in the mountains, due to long-term downhill, the brake system is prone to high temperatures, resulting in reduced braking performance. To prevent the brake system from overheating, the driver often uses intermittent braking methods. In addition, the air brake device can also use rapid intermittent braking because the intake air amount is difficult to grasp.
