Water Cooling System Composition

Nov 04, 2020

It consists of a water pump, a radiator, a cooling fan, a thermostat, a compensation bucket, a water jacket in the engine block and cylinder head, and other auxiliary devices.

(1) Water pump: pressurize the coolant to ensure its circulation in the cooling system. Centrifugal water pumps are widely used in automobile engines.

(2) Radiator: consists of three parts: water inlet chamber, water outlet chamber and radiator core. Coolant flows in the radiator core, and air passes outside the radiator core. The hot coolant becomes cold by dissipating heat to the air, and the cold air heats up by absorbing the heat from the coolant, so the radiator is a heat exchanger.

(3) Cooling fan: when the fan rotates, air is sucked in and passed through the radiator to enhance the heat dissipation capacity of the radiator and accelerate the cooling of the coolant.

(4) Thermostat: a valve that controls the flow path of the coolant. It opens or closes the passage of the coolant to the radiator according to the temperature of the coolant.

(5) Compensation bucket: When the coolant is heated and expanded, part of the coolant flows into the compensation bucket; when the coolant is cooled, part of the coolant is sucked back to the radiator, so the coolant will not overflow.
