Valence-bond theory, a processing method to obtain the approximate solution of the molecular Schrodinger equation. Also known as electronic pairing method. The first chemical bond theory developed in history. The core idea is that the orbital overlap between atoms is close to each other, and the electron pairs with opposite spins are shared between atoms to reduce the energy and form bonds.
