Treatment method for broken wire of alcohol thermometer
1. Shake to restore
Hold the upper end of the thermometer firmly with your hand, and shake or rotate it quickly until the alcohol column recovers.
2. Vibration recovery
Put the bulb of the thermometer down vertically, and gently shake it on your finger or rubber until the alcohol column recovers.
3. Hot and cold water recovery
If there is a safety bubble at the upper end of the thermometer capillary, you can stand the thermometer upright, immerse it in warm water, and slowly heat it until the interrupted alcohol column recovers. Then immerse the thermometer in the coolant to gradually lower the temperature until the break of the alcohol column retracts into the ball, then take out the thermometer to slowly increase the temperature until it recovers.
4. Precautions after handling
The repaired thermometer can only be used after zero inspection and calibration; operation should be done carefully to avoid damage to the thermometer.
