Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting
The vehicle was raised with a lifter. After inspection, it was found that the dust cover of the constant velocity universal joint outside the right drive shaft was broken and the internal grease overflowed. Remove the right drive shaft and remove the dust cover. It is found that there is a lot of sand in the raceway of the outer constant velocity universal joint ball frame. After cleaning it with gasoline, it was found that the universal joint bead frame had two cracks, and the raceway had scratches and pits, which made it unusable. Replace with a new external constant velocity universal joint and dust cover, and the fault will be eliminated. According to requirements, Jetta cars should be inspected and maintained regularly. Once the ball cage dust cover is found to be damaged, it should be replaced in time to avoid damage to the ball cage.
