Boeing is a leader in the global aerospace industry and the world's largest manufacturer of civilian and military aircraft. The Boeing Company was established on July 1, 1916 by William Edward Boeing and was renamed The Boeing Company in 1917. At the beginning of its establishment, it mainly produced military aircraft and set foot in civilian transport aircraft.
On July 25, 1997, the shareholders of Boeing and McDonnell Douglas approved the merger. After completing the merger with McDonnell Douglas, Boeing has become the world's largest company in the aerospace industry. Boeing Company is composed of four main business groups: Boeing Civil Aircraft Group (mainly producing civilian transport aircraft), Boeing Integrated Defense Systems Group (mainly producing military aircraft, missiles and launch vehicles), Boeing Financial Corporation (providing asset financing and leasing Services), Boeing Connect (providing air two-way Internet and TV services for aircraft).
