Specific impulse is an important physical parameter used to measure the efficiency of a rocket or aircraft engine. Its size is related to the propellant chemical energy of the engine, combustion efficiency and nozzle efficiency. The higher the engine specific impulse, the greater the speed increase the propellant can produce under the same conditions, and the higher the engine efficiency.
