The plasticity and toughness of materials are as important as strength. Materials with poor plasticity and toughness tend to have poor process performance, which is difficult to meet various processing and installation requirements, and sudden brittle failure may occur during operation. This kind of damage often has no precursors to accidents and its danger is even greater. Yield strength indicates that the material will break. Brittle materials are less able to withstand impact loads.
