The world’s first nuclear-powered submarine, the "Nautilus", was launched on January 21, 1954 and officially entered service. On January 24, it began its first sea trial, announcing the birth of a nuclear-powered submarine; the world’s first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier "Enterprise" The number was completed and commissioned in December 1961. Many modern American aircraft carriers are nuclear-powered aircraft carriers.

There are 6 countries in the world that publicly claim to have nuclear submarines, namely: the United States, Russia, Britain, France, China, and India (India’s nuclear submarine is under construction). Among them, the United States and Russia have the most nuclear submarines.

Among the five nuclear powers, the United States took the lead in realizing the nuclear power of all submarines, and the UK and France also basically realized the nuclear power of submarines in the 1990s. Although Russia has the largest number of nuclear submarines in the world, it still retains some conventional submarines. Now China is also equipped with several nuclear submarines, mainly conventional submarines. In other countries in the world, apart from India, which has leased a nuclear submarine from Russia, they are not equipped with nuclear submarines for various reasons.
