Negative Catalyst

Dec 15, 2021

Negative catalysts are also called retarders or inhibitors. Not all catalysts accelerate the rate of chemical reactions. The catalyst that slows down the chemical reaction is called a negative catalyst. The principle of the negative catalyst is to increase the activation energy required for the reaction. The catalyst cannot change the thermodynamic equilibrium, but can only affect the speed at which the reaction process reaches equilibrium.
