α-Ketoglutaric acid
Alpha-ketoglutarate is a white fine crystalline powder among the two keto derivatives of glutaric acid. The melting point is 113.5°C. Easily soluble in water, alcohol, and extremely difficult to dissolve in ether. After long-term storage, it becomes pale grayish-yellow and easily deliquescent.
