Introduction to understeer

Understeer and oversteer are important criteria for measuring the balance of vehicle handling. Understeering is that the vehicle needs more steering wheel angle to maintain the required traveling line. The understeer is that the yaw angle of the front tire and the ground contact surface is established faster than The speed at which the slip angle of the rear tire and the ground contact surface is established is caused.

Usually, a certain speed is required for the vehicle to enter a state of equilibrium, and understeering can enable the vehicle to enter a state of equilibrium at a lower speed. Once the vehicle enters the equilibrium state, the body torsion angle will not continue to increase as the steering wheel angle increases. The performance of the steering wheel becomes lighter. Even if the steering angle is increased, the car body still travels according to the original line and the car body torsion angle does not change.
