Introduction to Bipolar Integrated Circuit
In semiconductors, both majority and minority carriers (holes and electrons) are involved in the conduction of active components, such as the usual NPN or PNP bipolar transistors. Monolithic integrated circuits based on this type of transistor are called bipolar integrated circuits.
