Inertial synchronizers, like atmospheric synchronizers, rely on friction to achieve synchronization. However, it can structurally ensure that the engagement sleeve and the spline ring gear to be engaged cannot be in contact until synchronization is achieved, so as to avoid inter-tooth impact and noise.
