Features of laser light source
The laser light source has the following characteristics:
① Good monochromaticity. The color of laser is very pure, and its monochromaticity is more than 10 times higher than that of ordinary light source. Therefore, the laser light source is an excellent coherent light source, which can be widely used in optical communications.
②Strong directionality. The divergence solid angle of the laser beam is very small, in the order of milliarc, which is 2 to 3 orders of magnitude smaller than the divergence angle of ordinary light or microwave.
③High brightness. The radiant brightness at the focal point of the laser is 10 to 100 times higher than that of ordinary light.
