h(a) emerythrin is a compound formed by the combination of earthworm hemoglobin prosthetic group (hemoferrin) and globin. The earthworm hemoglobin prosthetic group contains polypeptides and iron, but does not contain a porphyrin ring. The absorption band is similar to hemocyanin.
