Definition of Homogeneous Catalysis
The catalyst and the reactants are in the same phase of catalysis, such as homogeneous acid-base catalysis, homogeneous complex catalysis, etc. Homogeneous catalysis is mostly carried out in the liquid phase. Homogeneous catalysts have relatively uniform active centers, high selectivity, and few side reactions, but the catalyst is difficult to separate, recover, and regenerate.
