​Apparent Density

Apparent density refers to the ratio of the mass of the material to the apparent volume. The apparent volume is the actual volume plus the closed pore volume. Generally, the volume is directly measured. For materials with irregular shapes, the pores can be sealed by the wax sealing method, and then the volume can be measured by the drainage method.
