The zonal method, also known as the "segment method", was founded by H.C.Hottel in 1958. It is a discrete mathematical model method for studying high temperature heat exchange fields. Because its simulation accuracy is higher than other similar digital models, it is a better tool for design research and offline analysis of industrial furnaces and other thermal equipment.
