Transcription is the flow of genetic information from DNA to RNA. That is, the process of synthesizing RNA catalyzed by RNA polymerase with a certain strand of double stranded DNA (template strand is used for transcription and coding strand is not used for transcription) as the template and four ribonucleotides a, u, C and G as raw materials.
