The role of the actuator
In mechanical automation systems, actuators can be divided into three categories: electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic according to the input energy. Electric actuators are flexible in installation and easy to use, and are most widely used in automatic control systems. Pneumatic actuators are simple in structure, light in weight, reliable in operation and have explosion-proof characteristics. They are widely used in medium- and small-power chemical and petroleum equipment and automatic production lines in the machinery industry. Hydraulic actuators have high power, good speed, and smooth operation, and are widely used in high-power control systems.
The actuators are divided into pneumatic actuators, electric actuators and hydraulic actuators according to different occasions.
