The main source of blood lead

In the atmosphere

Mainly refers to the lead emissions from industrial production, life and transportation. It is estimated that the world emits 349,250 tons of lead into the atmosphere every year. Lead poisoning comes from the inevitable industrial waste gas, leaded gasoline, automobile exhaust, coal burning, steel metallurgy, and chemical plant emissions.

In soil and dust

Under normal circumstances, the lead content in the soil is 10-50mg/kg, but in urban areas, the lead content in the soil may be hundreds or even thousands of times higher. Indoor lead dust is also an important source of lead exposure in children.

In the water

Polluted drinking water bodies with wastewater can increase lead levels in the water. Although the lead content in tap water is not high, its bioavailability is often higher than that in food. Research suggests that children's absorption rate of lead can be as high as 50%. A water filter or a water filter can be added to prevent children from ingesting lead in the water.

Decoration materials

Lead pollution such as household decoration materials (paints, paints), cigarette smoke, cosmetics (lipstick, talcum powder), lead-containing containers, and metal tableware is also one of the main causes of children's lead exposure.
