Spot welding introduction
Spot Welding is a resistance welding method in which the weldment is assembled into lap joints and pressed between two columnar electrodes, and the base metal is melted by resistance heat to form a solder joint. Spot welding is mainly used for thin plate welding.
Spot welding process:
(1) Pre-press to ensure good workpiece contact.
(2) Apply electricity to form nuggets and plastic rings at the weld.
(3) Power off and forging, so that the nugget will cool and crystallize under the continued pressure, forming a solder joint with dense structure, no shrinkage holes and cracks.
