Solid track detector
Materials include mica, quartz and various mineral crystals; non-crystals such as glass and ceramics; polymer plastics such as polycarbonate, nitrocellulose, acetate, and polyester. The solid track detector was developed in the 1960s and can detect protons, alpha particles, heavy ions, fission fragments, and nuclei in cosmic rays.
