Rosin acid is a tricyclic diterpenoid oxygenated compound with the chemical formula C20H30O2, and is one of the most important resin acids. It is insoluble in water, soluble in general organic solvents and dilute sodium hydroxide solution, soluble in alcohol, benzene, chloroform, acetone, ether and carbon disulfide.
