Radioactive isotope
The atom of an element is composed of a nucleus and electrons, and the nucleus is composed of protons and neutrons. The same element has the same number of protons, but can have different numbers of neutrons. Such elements with the same number of protons but different numbers of neutrons are called isotopes.
