Quantum Electrodynamics Discipline Overview

Quantum electrodynamics is the longest and most mature branch in the development of quantum field theory, abbreviated as QED. It mainly studies the basic process of the interaction between electromagnetic fields and charged particles. In principle, its principles summarize the electromagnetic interaction processes in various fields of atomic physics, molecular physics, solid physics, nuclear physics, and particle physics. It studies the quantum properties of electromagnetic interaction (ie, the emission and absorption of photons), the generation and annihilation of charged particles (such as positive and negative electrons), and the scattering between charged particles, and the scattering between charged particles and photons. From the perspectives of wide application range, simple and clear basic assumptions, and high accuracy in conformity with experiments, it is very prominent in modern physics.
