Principles of aseptic operation

Nov 24, 2020

1. The environment should be clean, and work such as cleaning the floor must be stopped half an hour before the aseptic operation. Avoid unnecessary crowd movement and prevent dust from flying. The treatment room should be disinfected with ultraviolet light once a day.

2. When performing aseptic operations, the sterile and non-sterile areas of the items must be clearly defined.

3. Before performing aseptic operations, wear a hat, a mask, wash your hands, and dry your hands. Pay attention to clean air and environment.

4. When picking up sterile items, sterile holding forceps must be used. When performing aseptic operations, all hands and arms that have not been sterilized should not directly touch sterile objects or take objects beyond the sterile area.

5. Sterile items must be stored in sterile bags or sterilized containers, and should not be exposed to the air for too long. Sterile and non-sterile materials should be placed separately. Once opened, the sterile bag cannot be regarded as absolutely sterile and should be used as soon as possible. The sterile items that have been taken out cannot be put back into the sterile container even if they are not used.

6. Aseptic packages should be placed in a fixed cabinet according to the order of disinfection date and kept clean and dry. They should be placed separately from non-sterile packages. Check whether the aseptic packages or containers are expired and whether the amount of materials in them is appropriate.

7. Sterile saline, alcohol, and new cotton ball tanks are disinfected once a week. Dressings in the container such as dry cotton balls, gauze pieces, etc., should not be overfilled, so as not to be contaminated by touching the outside of the container during use.
