Phenylalanine
Phenylalanine has a chemical formula of C9H11NO2 and a molecular weight of 165.19. It is named 2-aminophenylpropionic acid and is a kind of α-amino acid. The optical isomer with biological activity is L-phenylalanine.
Phenylalanine is a white crystal or crystalline powder solid at room temperature. It is sublimated under reduced pressure and is soluble in water, but hardly soluble in methanol, ethanol, and ether.
