The zinc ore or sphalerite is calcined into zinc oxide in the air, and then reduced with charcoal to obtain (lower purity);
Or mix zinc oxide and coke and heat it in a blast furnace to 1373K~1573K to distill out the zinc (purity is about 98%);
Or after leaching into zinc sulfate with sulfuric acid, by controlling the pH, the zinc is dissolved into zinc sulfate, and impurities such as iron, arsenic, and antimony are hydrolyzed and converted into precipitation into the leaching residue. Zinc powder is added to remove impurities such as copper and cadmium in the filtrate, and then electrolysis is used. The zinc is deposited, and the zinc obtained by the latter has a higher purity (about 99.99%)
