Main features of the economic system
The economic system is a complex giant system. Compared with the general system, it has the following characteristics:
(1) The complexity of the economic system: Due to the complex structure of the economic system, the economic system is generally more complicated than the engineering system.
(2) The economic system is a system in which people directly participate: the main body of the economic system is people. Due to the differences in people's thinking, judgment, decision-making, and preferences, the economic system in which people participate has obvious characteristics such as uncertainty and ambiguity. This brings great difficulties to the analysis and research of such a giant system.
(3) Diversity of goals of the economic system: Any system has certain goals. The economic system must consider both economic benefits and social benefits, as well as the impact on the ecological environment. It is necessary to consider both long-term goals and short-term goals. Some of these goals are consistent and some are contradictory. We must study the specific goals of the economic system according to the actual situation, and sometimes we need to consider multiple goals at the same time.
