Magnetoresistance definition

A varistor is a magnetically sensitive, magnetoresistive resistor element. The phenomenon that the resistance of a substance changes in a magnetic field is called a magnetoresistance effect. The varistor is usually made of a semiconductor material sensitive to magnetic properties such as indium bromide (InSb) or indium arsenide (InAs). The magnetoresistance effect of a semiconductor material includes a physical magnetoresistance effect and a geometric magnetoresistance effect, which is also called a magnetoresistance effect.
