Quantum Fund is a world-renowned large-scale hedge fund, one of the five hedge funds operated by American financier George Soros. Quantum Fund is a high-risk fund that mainly borrows money to invest in stocks, bonds, foreign exchange and commodities worldwide. The Quantum Fund is not registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, but is registered offshore in Curaçao. It mainly uses private placement to raise funds. Soros named it "quantum" because of the "uncertainty theorem" proposed by Heisenberg, a German physicist and founder of quantum mechanics admired by Soros. Soros believes that just as the physical quantum of microparticles cannot have a certain value, the stock market is often in an uncertain state, and it is difficult to accurately measure and estimate.
