Introduction to Dalton's law of partial pressure

The pressure of the mixed gas is equal to the sum of the partial pressures of the components. The partial pressure of a component refers to the presence of the component alone (ie, when it exists in the chemically pure state under the same temperature and volume as the mixed gas and equal to the moles of the component contained in the mixed gas) pressure.
