Introducing Robert Fulton
Robert Fulton was a famous American engineer born on November 14, 1765. He built the first steam engine-powered ship, which was 21.35 meters long. It was successfully tested in the Seine River in France in 1803, but it was destroyed by the storm that night. Later he received the support of J. Watt and in March 1805 acquired a new larger marine steam engine body. Two years later, Fulton made a paddle-driven steam engine "Clermont" in the United States, 45 meters long, and made a historic voyage on the Hudson River in New York on August 18, 1807. It is 1.61 km/h.
