Hirudin is a low-molecular-weight (7000) polypeptide composed of 65 amino acids, among which glutamine and asparagine have a higher accountant, while the isoelectric point is lower (3.8-4.0), and it is stable for a long time at room temperature. Hirudin is the most effective natural anticoagulant known, and its effect is better than heparin. It has anticoagulant and thrombus-dissolving effects, which is the function of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis in Chinese medicine.
