The hexagonal crystal system refers to the assignment of crystals in which there are six-fold or six-fold anti-axis characteristic symmetry elements in the main direction of the c-axis with the only higher-order axis. Also known as "hexagonal galaxy", it belongs to the intermediate crystal family.
