Geometric mean characteristics
1. The geometric mean is less affected by extreme values than the arithmetic mean;
2. If the variable value has a negative value, the calculated geometric mean will become a negative or imaginary number;
3. It is only applicable to data with a proportional or approximate proportional relationship;
4. The logarithm of the geometric mean is the arithmetic mean of the logarithm of each variable value.
