Garrett Turbo Overview
Garrett was founded in Los Angeles in 1936. This is a small company with a single office, but today it has grown to become the world's largest turbocharger manufacturer.
He is currently the world's largest manufacturer of turbochargers with 6,000 employees, eight branches and factories. It can produce 30,000 turbines per day. The company's current partners are Audi, BMW, Daimler Benz, Ford, Chrysler, logo, Renault, Saab and Volkswagen.
Garrett's most famous product is the "ball bearing turbine" series, which proves that the value of its brand is already at the highest level. Ball bearings can be said to be quite popular in today's turbo-bearing technology. The center shaft and the bearing holder are surrounded by a ring of metal balls to assist the rotation. The advantage is that the rotational resistance is small, the turbo lag is thus small, and the high speed can be withstood, and the balance of the center of rotation is almost perfect. But the disadvantage is that the cost of the ball bearing turbine is high, and the too small turbine lube inlet makes him less durable than the floating bearing. However, the quality of the Garrett turbine has been tested by the international competitions, and the durability should be no problem under normal use.
